Terra Nova and Rádio Soberania reported on the announcement of the Association's first Coastal Clean-up action, held on 26 September 2020 at Praia de São Jacinto, with around 15 volunteers and logistical support from the São Jacinto Parish Council, as part of International Coastal Clean-up Day promoted by Fundação Oceano Azul.
A crowdfunding campaign to reach Cape Verde
Fátima Missionária and OvarNews reported on the launch of a fundraising campaign (with a target of two thousand euros) to cover travel costs for 12 volunteers on the first International Volunteering Mission in Cape Verde, in the city of Praia - the seed of what is today the annual mission on Santiago Island.
Daniel Vieira, on NiT TV: "World Needs exists to help people"
In a video piece by NiT TV, Daniel Vieira - then one of the Association's leading faces - presented World Needs as a cooperative effort for social development through education, culture, science and solidarity, always in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Back to the border: Aveiro volunteers return to Poland
As part of its special coverage of the Russia-Ukraine war, SIC Notícias reported on the return of Aveiro volunteers to Poland, to reinforce support at the Refugee Reception Centre in the border area of Przemyśl - the same humanitarian mission documented in the photographs on the Projects page.
500 kilograms of litter collected in São Jacinto
Aveiro Mag followed the Association's 10th Coastal Clean-up: first the announcement of the action, scheduled for 23 September; then the result - 30 volunteers and 500 kilograms of waste collected, including plastics and fishing debris. André Caravela Machado, the Association's chairman, publicly thanked the volunteers and partner entities - Aveiro City Council, Veolia and Fundação Oceano Azul.
